• • 2.72 MILL PROPERTY TAX LEVY RENEWAL:
  • The tax issue was approved in May 1991.
  • It has a five-year term and started generating revenue in 1992.
  • The current effective mills is 1.27.
  • The tax issue raises about $460,000 annually.
  • The tax on a $100,000 value home is about $84 annually.
• • 2.72 MILL PROPERTY TAX LEVY RENEWAL:
  • House Bill 28, which seeks to eliminate the authority to impose replacement property tax levies, has successfully passed through the House and is currently under discussion in committee. Should it receive approval from the Senate, it will subsequently be forwarded to the Governor for consideration.
  • Efforts to abolish property taxes have taken a significant step forward. Attorney General Yost has accepted the petition title and summary for a proposed constitutional amendment aimed at eliminating property taxes in Ohio. Following this, the Ohio Ballot Board has certified the proposal, allowing petitioners to begin collecting the necessary signatures to place the amendment on the ballot.

The Committee discussed the city-owned vacant land at 1313 Far Hills Avenue. This lot is currently available for sale to develop a single-family residential project.
