      • Salt Storage Bin: Mr. Klopsch mentioned that staff is considering inclusion of a second salt storage building in the 2023 budget. Having a second building would allow the public works department to store sufficient deicing salt to address severe winters and salt delivery delays as they may occur.
  • REGIONAL AGENCIES
    • MVCC, Mr. Stephens
      • May 4 Open House: Mr. Klopsch shared that the MVCC staff is finalizing plans for an Open House event scheduled for 6 – 8 pm on May 4. This is an opportunity for communities to tour the MVCC facilities and find out what MVCC is all about. Members of the Springboro Community Theatre will be in the studio performing a live show, and officials from TCSU will be on-site with the evidence trailer. There will also be a food truck available.
    • Mayors & Managers, Mayor Duncan
      • 2022 ICMA Conference: Mr. Klopsch reported that the Ohio City/County Management Association (OCMA), is hosting the 2022 ICMA Conference this fall. The event will take place in Columbus over a five day period from September 17-21.
    • First Suburbs, Vice Mayor Byington
      • ARPA and CARES Act Spending: Mr. Klopsch reported that the March 23 First Suburbs meeting included a discussion about how member communities are using CARES Act and ARPA funding. Most communities are using it for infrastructure projects and to assist businesses that were negatively impacted by COVID-19.
  • BOARDS & COMMISSIONS
    • Sister City Association, Mrs. Hilton
      • Le Vésinet Invitation: Mr. Klopsch shared that the Mayor of Le Vésinet extended an invitation to Mayor Duncan to the June 24-27 anniversary celebration in Le Vésinet. Mayor Duncan stated that he is unable to attend. Mrs. Turben expressed an interest in attending.
  • MISCELLANEOUS
    • Committee Appointments: Council discussed the list of appointments scheduled for the regular session this evening.
    • April 18 Work Session: Mr. Klopsch shared that the April 18 work session will be held in the second-floor training room. The work session will begin with a discussion about cybersecurity from Mark Flannery, the city’s IT consultant. The meeting will also include: a discussion about designated natural areas/native gardens; a briefing on land-use and zoning law; a discussion about the future of the Oakwood health district; and an executive session for conference with attorney and for property matters. In addition to Rob Jacques, Carol Collins, Cindy Stafford, Jennifer Wilder and Ethan Kroger will join the meeting.

At 7:25 p.m., Mayor Duncan concluded the work session and Council moved to regular session.
