Commissioner Greg Miles, Commissioner Tracy Killian, Commissioner Jeff Chugg, Deputy Attorney Grant Charles, Public Works Director Mike Casper, Public Works Deputy Director Clint Curtis, Deputy Clerk-Auditor Oaklee Larsen, Economic Development Director Kori Wilde, Emergency Management Director Josh Phillips, Fire Warden Brandon Peck, Human Resource Director Judy Stevenson, Treasurer Stephen Potter, Economic Development Assistant Deborah Herron, Clerk-Auditor Chelise Curtis, Building Department Director Adam Johnson, Community Development Administrator Mike Gottfredson, Deputy Clerk-Auditor Janet Jenkins, and Commission Executive Assistant Melissa Hughes is taking the meeting minutes.

Each Commissioner described their experiences at the different town parades they attended and how great it is to celebrate America’s 250^th Birthday.

Commissioner Greg Miles described what happened this year in history: In 2002, Serena Williams beat her older sister, Venus, 7-6, 6-3, for her first Wimbledon singles title. IN 1995, the Bosnian Serbs had begun cutting off supply lines, destroying infrastructure, and preparing for the eventual capture of the town. This set the stage for the mass killing of over 8,000 Bosniak men and boys that began on July 11, along with the ethnic cleansing of tens of thousands of women and children. In 1945, George Bush was born. In 1928, the first all-talking motion picture was shown in New York (Lights of New York). In 1777, British General Burgoyne captured Fort Ticonderoga from the Americans.

Public Works Director Mike Casper provided an update of ongoing and upcoming work. The chipping on Chuck’s Meat Road (11500 W) in Arcadia is complete. They will move to Pleasant Valley, 10000 South, next. Sometime this season, they would like to continue the paving on Red Creek Road (CR 1). Mowing is about 95% completed this year; it should be completed after this week. Commissioner Miles requested that Lord Calvert Road (CR 218W) be mowed. He said it hasn’t been done for a couple of years. The parties discussed the culverts that need repair or replacement. The 2000 West overlay project will go out to bid. Commissioner Killian discussed where the road was cut on State Street; it has settled and needs to be fixed. The parties discussed other roads that need repairs, as well as the asphalt around the new Road Department Building.

Public Works Director Mike Casper presented two quotes for bulk fuel tanks.

• DT Trucking – 9,575-gallon tank for $21,500, 1,870-gallon tank for $4,500, 8’ tank gauge for $250, and 5’ tank gauge for $200. Total $26,450.00.
• Eaton – 10,000-gallon tank for $29,700.

The parties discussed the quotes and the placement of the tanks. Commissioner Killian made a motion to approve the tanks from DT Trucking for $26,450.00. Commissioner Chugg seconded the motion. Commissioner Killian voted aye, Commissioner Chugg voted aye, and Commissioner Miles voted aye. The motion passed.
