The Board of Zoning Appeals of the City of Oakwood met in regular session at 4:30 p.m. in the council chambers of the City of Oakwood, located at 30 Park Avenue, Oakwood, Ohio 45419. Mr. Nick Endsley presided, and Ms. Lori Stacel, the Clerk, recorded the proceedings.

Upon call of the roll, the following members of the Board responded to their names:

  • MR. PAUL KAVANAUGH ABSENT
  • MRS. SAMANTHA ELDER ABSENT

  • Ms. Lori Stacel, Clerk of Council

Mr. Endsley called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. and shared that Mr. Kavanaugh and Mrs. Elder were unable to attend the meeting and asked to be excused. A motion to excuse was made by Mr. O’Connor; seconded by Ms. Yankel. Upon viva voce vote, the motion passed, and the absences were excused.

Mr. Endsley asked the members of the Board if any discussion was warranted regarding the minutes from the January 11, 2024, June 13, 2024, and December 12, 2024 meetings, which were slated for approval. The Board noted that Mr. Endsley was the only current and present board member who attended the January 11, 2024 meeting. The Board noted on the record that the minutes were accurate based on Mr. Endsley’s recollection. Mr. O’Connor moved that the January 11, 2024 minutes be approved as written and the reading thereof at this session be dispensed with. Mrs. Yankel seconded the motion. Upon a viva voce vote, the motion passed, and the minutes were approved. There being no concerns with the June 13, 2024 and December 12, 2024 minutes, it was moved by Ms. Yankel and seconded by Mr. O’Connor that the minutes be approved as submitted and the reading thereof be dispensed with at this session. Upon a viva voce vote on the question of the motion, the same passed unanimously, and it was so ordered.

Mr. Endsley explained that the only agenda item is Application #25-1 to consider a variance for a rear yard setback in conjunction with the construction of a residential addition at 67 Wisteria Drive. He invited Mr. Jacques to present a staff report before opening the public hearing.
