ORDINANCE 2025-16

WHEREAS the Delaware County Council (the “Council”) is the county fiscal body for the County of Delaware, Indiana and is by law authorized to adopt ordinances and resolutions for the administration of county fiscal matters;

WHEREAS, pursuant to Indiana Code 6-1.1-25-3, the compensation rate for members of a county property tax assessment board of appeals is determined by the county council on a per diem basis; and

WHEREAS, at the request of the Delaware County Assessor, the Council desires to update and standardize the compensation for the members of the Delaware County Property Tax Board of Appeals.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Delaware County Council as follows:

1. 1. Each member of the Delaware County Property Tax Board of Appeals shall be paid at the rate of $100.00 per day of actual service.
2. 2. The Delaware County Assessor shall keep an attendance record for each meeting of the Delaware County Property Tax Board of Appeals. At the close of each annual session, the Assessor shall certify to the Delaware County Board of Commissioners the number of days actually served by each member who shall be compensated accordingly.
3. 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon passage by the Council.
