TO AMEND SECTION I, 2025 ORIGINAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE NO. 5009, AND ANY EXISTING SUPPLEMENTS THERETO, TO PROVIDE FOR THE APPROPRIATION OF:

1.
AN ADDITIONAL AMOUNT OF $40,003 TO BE EXPENDED FROM THE COURT COMPUTERIZATION FUND FOR DATA CONVERSION SERVICES AND UPGRADES TO THE OAKWOOD MUNICIPAL COURT CASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM;

FOR THE CITY OF OAKWOOD, STATE OF OHIO, DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING DECEMBER 31, 2025.

WHEREAS, the Oakwood Municipal Court recently applied for and was awarded a grant, through the Ohio Supreme Court’s 2025 Technology Grant Program, to assist with needed technological improvements to the Court’s case management software and file handling system; and

WHEREAS, these improvements were not included in the 2025 budget due to the timing of the grant application; and

WHEREAS, the Court was awarded a grant in the amount of $38,715, which will require a small amount of City matching funds, for a total improvement cost of $40,003; and

WHEREAS, Council wishes to adopt a supplemental appropriation in order to add this amount to the 2025 budget and proceed with these technological improvements for the Oakwood Municipal Court;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF OAKWOOD, STATE OF OHIO, THAT:

SECTION I.

To provide for the current expenses and other expenditures of the said city of Oakwood during the period commencing January 1, 2025 and ending December 31, 2025, the following revised sums shall be and they are hereby set aside and appropriated as follows, with added material in bold type and deleted material in strike-through type:

SECTION II.

The Director of Finance is hereby authorized to draw warrants for payments from any of the foregoing appropriations upon receiving proper certificates and vouchers therefore, approved by this ordinance of Council to make the expenditures; provided that no warrants shall be drawn or paid for salaries or wages except to persons employed by authority of and in accordance with law or ordinance.

SECTION III.

This ordinance, as an appropriation to meet current expenses of the City, takes effect immediately upon its passage as provided by Section 3.04 of the City Charter.
