The Schantz Avenue Bridge over South Dixie Highway will undergo a complete replacement in 2019. Rather than reconstructing another unremarkable concrete bridge structure with a utilitarian chain-link fence, we collaborated with our CitySites Public Art Program to seamlessly integrate a one-of-a-kind public art installation in to the new bridge. This signature entry feature for Kettering will reflect the artistry of trolley cars which once traveled the Dixie corridor and intricate designs on historic cash registers showcased at nearby Carillon Park.

Traffic will be impacted during construction:

• Schantz Avenue will be closed at the bridge. Access to South Dixie Highway will be detoured using South Patterson Boulevard, Crauder Avenue, and Sacramento Avenue.
• South Dixie Highway will be reduced from two lanes in each direction to one lane in each direction. Northbound traffic will not be able to turn left at Mayo Avenue, Carrollton Avenue, Prosser Avenue, nor Calvary Drive.
• Reference the detour map on the back of this letter.

Construction is scheduled to start early April, and will take approximately 7-8 months. Signs will be posted on Schantz Avenue and South Dixie Highway in advance of construction to notify the traveling public. Additional information is available at:
