ORDINANCE NO. 2025-29

AN ORDIANCE FOR THE ADJUSTMENT OF PAY PERIODS FOR THE YEAR 2026

WHEREAS, the Delaware County Personnel Handbook and the Delaware County Payroll system originally created a total of 26 pay periods for the year; and

WHEREAS, there are occasions in which because of the calendar, County employees will receive 27 pay checks instead of the normal 26 pay checks.

WHEREAS, the County should return to 26 pay checks for 2026 and rescind prior ordinances.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF DELAWARE COUNTY, INDIANA THAT:

  1. The Delaware County Auditor shall amend its payroll system for 2026 to establish that all employees will receive 26 paychecks for the year 2026.
  2. Ordinance 2024-028 and all previous ordinances inconsistent with this Ordinance are hereby repealed and rescinded
  3. This ordinance is effective upon adoption.
