Correct and up-to-date property information is crucial to ensure fair and equitable property values. In an effort to maintain accurate data on every parcel in the county, Ohio law requires counties to conduct a Revaluation every six years to update property information.
We are beginning the next phase of the mandated 2020 Revaluation for Montgomery County, and have contracted with locally based Lexur Appraisal Services to complete this work. Beginning this Friday, May 24, they will begin do field checks to verify changes in property characteristics. This will require Lexur’s appraisers to physically view, and in some cases, measure features of properties.
Homeowners may contact local government agencies, particularly local law enforcement, if they have questions about this project. Please feel free to pass this message along to your staff who may receive these phone calls.
- All personnel assigned to the project will be wearing county-issued photo identification.
- The names of the appraisers involved in this project, as well as the makes/models and license plate numbers for their vehicles, are included with this letter.
- Project personnel are deputized to access driveways or private lanes and take measurements of properties.
- Work may be performed on both weekdays and weekends.
