City Council met in public session on November 7, 2022. Here are the highlights.
Council meeting minutes were approved for the October 3, 2022 regular session, work session and executive session, and October 24, 2022 executive session.
STATUS REPORTS – None.
- Scarecrow Row Award Winners – Mayor Bill Duncan recognized the 2022 Scarecrow Row award winners.
- Oakwood resident Julie Gilkeson shared her support of the City considering construction of a roundabout at the Five Points intersection, in lieu of the traffic signal.
Oakwood City Council approved the following legislation:
- An Ordinance to consider a zoning map amendment to consolidate two (2) residentially-zoned lots at 409 Rubicon Road into the same residential zoning district.
- A Resolution to approve the continued use of the 2004 Comprehensive Plan.
Oakwood City Council conducted a first reading on the following legislation:
- An Ordinance to amend Section 151.03, Disposal of Lost, Abandoned, Stolen, Seized or Forfeited Property, of the Oakwood Administrative Code.
- An Ordinance to approve updates to the Traffic and General Offenses Codes.
Leisure Services Department Presentation: Leisure Services Director Carol Collins provided an update on parks and recreation programs and events.
Councilmember Leigh Turben recognized the Sister City celebration events with Le Vésinet (50th anniversary) and Outremont (46th anniversary).
City Manager Norbert Klopsch updated Council on the following topics: annual fall leaf collection; Oakwood Citizen Police Academy graduation; and the retirement of General Service Worker Chris North.
- Councilmember Leigh Turben reminded everyone that tomorrow is Election Day. The polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. She encouraged everyone to vote.
- Vice Mayor Steve Byington encouraged everyone to vote, and asked that everyone be respectful to the poll workers.
- Mayor Bill Duncan shared that the November 5 New Resident Breakfast was a wonderful event.
