OAKWOOD CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
AUGUST 5, 2024
The Council of the city of Oakwood, Ohio met in a work session on Monday, August 5, 2024 in the conference room at the city building, 30 Park Avenue. The Mayor of the City, William Duncan, presided.
Council members in attendance were Mayor William Duncan, Vice Mayor Steve Byington, Rob Stephens, Leigh Turben and Healy Jackson. Staff in attendance was City Manager Norbert Klopsch.
Mayor Duncan called the work session to order at 6 p.m. and reviewed the agenda for the regular session this evening. Thereafter, he led a discussion on the following work session agenda items:
- STATUS REPORTS: None scheduled.
- VISITORS: None scheduled.

LEGISLATION: Council discussed the following legislation and the public hearing scheduled for the regular session this evening:
- An Ordinance to Consider a Proposed Text Amendment of the Zoning Code for the placement and use of Temporary Outdoor Restroom Facilities, Vice Mayor Byington
- STAFF REPORT: Mr. Klopsch noted that City Engineer Chris Kuzma, P.E., will deliver a PowerPoint presentation at the regular session this evening with updates on infrastructure improvement projects.

MISCELLANEOUS
- BZA Vacancy: Council discussed the current vacancy on the BZA with the resignation of Linda Weprin.
- August 19 Work Session: Mr. Klopsch shared that John Minear and Bob Downing from the Montgomery County Solid Waste District will attend the August 19 work session to speak about the Hefty ReNew program, the food waste recycling program, and generally about the current state of recycling and landfills in the region and nationally. Mr. Klopsch will also invite James Hoffer from The Foodbank to join in the discussion about the food waste recycling program.
At 6:30 p.m., Council moved to an executive session for personnel matters.
At 7:20 p.m., Mayor Duncan concluded the executive session and Council moved to regular session.
