Mrs. Turben reminded everyone of the annual Holiday of Lights Ceremony held at Shafor Park at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 10 and the Santa Tour on December 18. She wished everyone a happy and safe holiday season.
Mrs. Hilton shared that this was her last meeting as a member of Oakwood City Council. She stated that she learned so much from City Council and city staff and thanked everybody for everything. She recognized the outstanding city staff. Mrs. Hilton concluded by wishing Mrs. Healy Jackson all the best as a new member of City Council.
Mr. Stephens said that it has been an honor working with Mrs. Hilton. He recognized Mrs. Hilton's genuine care for the city.
Vice Mayor Byington said that it has been a pleasure working with Mrs. Hilton. He thanked all city employees for their hard work throughout the year. He recognized Law Director Rob Jacques and Planning & Zoning Manager Ethan Kroger for their integrity and professionalism when dealing with difficult situations. He wished everyone a happy holiday season.
Mayor Duncan thanked Mrs. Hilton for her service. He noted that he is looking forward to working with councilmember-elect Healy Jackson next year on City Council. He is thankful to live in the great city of Oakwood with a fine group of council members who have the city's best interest in mind. Mayor Duncan closed the meeting by announcing the city employees who will be recognized for their years of service in five-year increments at the December 15 holiday employee luncheon.
