OAKWOOD CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
NOVEMBER 4, 2024
The Council of the city of Oakwood, Ohio met in a work session and executive session on Monday, November 4, 2024 in the conference room at the city building, 30 Park Avenue. The Mayor of the City, William Duncan, presided.
Council members in attendance were Mayor William Duncan, Vice Mayor Steve Byington, Rob Stephens, Leigh Turben and Healy Jackson. Staff in attendance were City Manager Katie Smiddy and Law Director Rob Jacques.
Mayor Duncan called the work session to order at 6 p.m. and reviewed the agenda for the regular session this evening. Thereafter, he led a discussion on the following work session agenda items:

STATUS REPORTS:
- Captain Swear-In: Mrs. Smiddy noted that Mayor Duncan will administer the Captain Oath of Office this evening to Lieutenant Keith Benson.
- VISITORS: Mayor Duncan noted that he will recognize winners of the 2024 Scarecrow Row contest at the regular session this evening.

LEGISLATION: Council discussed the following legislation scheduled for the regular session this evening:
- A Resolution to recognize Norbert Klopsch, Mayor Duncan
- An Ordinance to approve updates to the Traffic and General Offenses Codes, Mr. Stephens
- STAFF REPORT: Mrs. Smiddy noted that Leisure Services Director Carol Collins will deliver a PowerPoint presentation at the regular session this evening.

Public Utilities/Waterworks/Sewer, Mrs. Turben
- Water Service Line Mailing: Mrs. Smiddy shared that the letters required by the EPA will be mailed later this week to ensure delivery by the 11/16 EPA deadline. A press release will be distributed on Thursday.

At 6:55 p.m., Council moved to an executive session for personnel matters.
At 7:15 p.m., Mayor Duncan concluded the executive session and Council moved to regular session.
