    • Hollinger Tennis Facility: Mr. Klopsch mentioned that the Hollinger Board plans to conduct a rededication ceremony at the Tennis Facility at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4. They request Council's attendance and have asked the Mayor to say a few words at the event.
  • Public Utilities/Waterworks/Sewer, Mr. Epley
    • Refuse Fund: Mr. Klopsch explained that he no longer wished to pursue creating an Enterprise Fund for the city refuse operations. Rather, the Finance Department will reorganize the Budget so that all refuse revenues and expenses are clearly separated from the General Services Funds.
    • 210 Shafor Water Plant Roof: Mr. Klopsch explained that public works staff recently discovered that the roofing system on the 210 Shafor Water Plant is in need of replacement. The existing roof was installed in 1989. The cost of the new roof is about $27,000 and will be paid from the Water Fund. A supplemental appropriation may be needed later this year to provide the money necessary for this unanticipated expense.
    • Fiber Optic System: Mr. Klopsch provided a brief update on the broadband expansion project being considered through MVCC. There are still several unanswered questions and currently no timeline for starting this project.
    • Private Fire Hydrants: Mr. Klopsch explained that there are 16 privately-owned fire hydrants connected to the Oakwood public water system. Owners of these private hydrants pay a small fee to the city for the right to connect to the water system. Of these 16 hydrants, there are 5 hydrants that are outdated and in need of replacement. Staff is developing a plan for how to address this issue.
  • Safety & Traffic, Mr. Stephens
    • Shroyer Road Project: Mr. Klopsch mentioned that the start of construction on the Shroyer Road Project is 1-2 weeks delayed and that work is now expected to begin in early July. Per ODOT requirements, the project must be completed by late October.
Mayor Duncan concluded the work session at 7 p.m. and adjourned the meeting.
