• Mrs. Jackson shared some resident feedback on recent swimming pool events and asked Council for clarification as to how they communicate about things such as scheduling state-level politician visits at our Council meetings.
  • Mayor Duncan shared resident concerns he had heard regarding property maintenance and zoning issues at two addresses; a brief discussion ensued.
  • Mr. Stephens asked Mrs. Smiddy about the duties to be handled by a new Finance Department intern who is being hired; a brief discussion ensued.
  • Mayor Duncan inquired as to the status of financial reports for the month of June. Mrs. Smiddy noted that the Finance Director’s recent focus has been on the conversion to a five-year budgeting model, but the June reports are being finalized.
  • Mayor Duncan informed Council about a few miscellaneous matters, including: an upcoming meeting that he and Mrs. Smiddy will be having with Kettering Health Network to discuss the building at 2600 Far Hills Avenue; Detective Ballinger’s recent One Hundred Club Award; and his upcoming meeting with US Representative Mike Turner.

At 7:37 p.m., Mayor Duncan concluded the work session and moved to an executive session for personnel matters.

At 8:15 p.m., Mayor Duncan concluded the executive session and adjourned the meeting.
