  • Mrs. Smiddy and Mr. Jacques advised Council of an upcoming meeting with a person interested in the 1313 Far Hills Avenue property.
  • Mrs. Turben inquired about ongoing national PFAS litigation. Mr. Jacques updated Council on the status of the City's claim.
  • Mrs. Smiddy advised Council that the updated traffic plan around Harman School went live today.
  • Mrs. Turben asked about Council recognition for Detective Kasey Ballinger; a brief discussion ensued.
  • Mrs. Jackson asked about the City's “Code Red” system. Mrs. Smiddy explained that the Code Red platform is being upgraded.
  • Mrs. Smiddy noted that Jen Balduf will no longer be reporting on Oakwood business for the Dayton Daily News. Our new assigned reporter is Samantha Wildow.
  • Mrs. Smiddy reminded Council that they need to schedule an executive session for personnel matters. Dates were exchanged and Council decided to hold it on January 12.
  • Mrs. Jackson inquired about the status of the Blue Envelope program. Mrs. Smiddy noted that she will be meeting soon with Chief Hill and Lieutenant Baggett to review draft program materials.
  • Mrs. Jackson asked for an update on the recent public park survey. Mrs. Smiddy noted that approximately 350-400 responses have been received.
  • Mrs. Jackson inquired about the status of sight line improvements at the intersection of Far Hills Avenue and Rubicon Road. Mrs. Smiddy noted that the project was on hold through the holidays, but Public Works staff are now working to schedule meetings with the affected homeowners to discuss options.

At 7:23 p.m., Mayor Duncan concluded the work session, and Council moved to regular session.
