Marcus Keller with Crews & Associates presented a report and explained that Duchesne County is eligible for 2216 sales tax financing options for public safety to maximize total proceeds to finance all or a portion of upcoming project improvements. The estimated tax revenue for 2024 was $3,479,583.00. He explained that it could be used for O&M and Capital Improvement for Public Safety. Iron County hired his company for its new jail project, and they used the tax for bonding payments. If the Commission passes the required resolution, it will take about 3 months before the County sees the tax revenue. He presented three scenarios of possible sales tax revenue bonds. The parties discussed the possible projects this could fund.
