When I joined City Council in 2003, it was my belief that Oakwood was well governed, well managed and financially strong. I still hold that belief and will continue this tradition.

Council Committee Assignments – Mayor Duncan explained that there are several committees of Council that consist of two members that meet as needed to discuss various topics. Mayor Duncan indicated that Council decided to leave the majority of the committee assignments the same as last year, with the exception of Mrs. Turben continuing with Mr. Epley’s previously assigned committees. Also, Mrs. Turben is replacing Mrs. Hilton on the Historical Society, and Mrs. Turben is replacing Mayor Duncan as the alternate on the First Suburbs Consortium. The committee assignments are as follows:
It was moved by Vice Mayor Byington and seconded by Mrs. Hilton that the aforementioned appointments be confirmed. Upon a viva voce vote on the question of the motion, same passed unanimously and it was so ordered.
Citizen Committee Appointments – Mayor Duncan presented the following list of reappointments and appointments to various citizen committees:
The reappointments of Katy Dalrymple to the Beautification Committee; Kip Bohachek (B), Larry Lamb (E) and Susan Herman (E) to the Property Maintenance Board; and the appointment of Erika Endsley to the Budget Review Committee (C).
