NEW BUSINESS:

Debrushing Quotes

Mr. Borchers stated the drainage board had me put together a list of debrushing projects, and I put together 14 of them. Two of them we do annually because of the water in the area and the high population density in that area. The other ones have needed to be done for years. I sent out specs to some contractors and I have the quotes to open up. Anybody have any questions before we start? Mr. Hamilton stated Mr. Borchers is going to open these in the order of priority. The priority that we feel they need to be completed to sustain drainage in Delaware County. I would suggest that we wait until we have opened all of the quotes before, we make any decisions on awarding any of the quotes to make sure that we have enough funds to cover the quotes of highest priority. Mr. Whitehead stated making sure we have funds is necessary. Results as follows:

Mr. Hamilton stated I think it comes out to just over $320,000 for the total of all of these jobs. Mr. surveyor, do you have any technical concerns of awarding these jobs to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder pending legal review? Mr. Borchers stated I do not. I’ve seen work that Coop's Lawn and Landscape has done, but they've never actually worked for the county. I believe he's one of the lower ones. All the other contractors that had a low bid, have worked for the county and I support anything they do. Mr. Hamilton stated the lowest bidder on six of these jobs was JJC Excavating. Jaren Crabtree, who owns JJC Excavating, is in the audience today. Do any board members have questions or concerns awarding six of these to Jaren? Mr. Whitehead, no. Mr. Hamilton stated Mr. Crabtree, do you believe that you would be able to complete all of this work as established on the request for quotes? Jaren Crabtree, 8800 South County Road, 300 West, approached and stated I do not see an issue in finishing these ditches for the time frame given. Mr.
