CITY OF OAKWOOD - MARCH 2, 2020

The Council of the city of Oakwood, State of Ohio, met in a work session and executive session at 6:30 p.m. in the conference room of the city of Oakwood, 30 Park Avenue, Oakwood, Ohio, 45419. Council then met in a regular session at 7:30 p.m., in the council chambers of the city of Oakwood.

The Mayor, Mr. William Duncan, presided, and the Clerk of Council, Ms. Lori Stacel, recorded. Mayor Duncan opened the meeting by asking all present to participate in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mrs. Hilton advised Council she had read the meeting minutes of the February 3 regular session and work session. Mrs. Hilton reported she found the minutes correct and complete. Therefore, it was moved by Mrs. Hilton and seconded by Mr. Epley that the minutes of the sessions of Council aforementioned be approved as written and the reading thereof at this session be dispensed with. Upon a viva voce vote on the question of the motion, same passed unanimously and it was so ordered.

STATUS REPORTS

Proclamation – Mayor Duncan read a proclamation recognizing March as “Red Cross Month”.

Citizen Committee Appointments – Mayor Duncan presented the following citizen committee appointments:

The appointment of Nicole Motto to the Budget Review Committee and the reappointment of Larry Henry to the Personnel Appeals Board.

It was moved by Mayor Duncan and seconded by Vice Mayor Byington that the aforementioned appointments be confirmed. Upon a viva voce vote on the question of the motion, same passed unanimously and it was so ordered.

Voting Precincts – Mayor Duncan shared that there are several polling location changes that will impact Oakwood residents beginning with the March 17, 2020 Primary Election. The polling locations are listed on the City’s website as well as Montgomery County Board of Elections website. Precincts A and B will vote at the Oakwood Community Center; Precincts C, D and F will vote at Edwin D. Smith School; Precinct E will vote at Kettering Fairmont High School; and Precinct G will vote at the Oakwood City Building. Mayor Duncan encouraged people to get out and vote on March 17.
