Regular Board Meeting

The mission of Duchesne County Library System is to enrich our residents' knowledge and inspire their growth. Through these efforts the library envisions our residents empowered to strengthen each other and unite their communities.

Welcome / Roll call. Commissioner Jeff Chugg, Director Daniel Mauchley, Vice Chair Kathryn Crapo, Jenny Adams, Secretary Amy Snow, Jesse Walker, Chair Jessica Shaw, Deb Evans
March 2026 minutes approval. The board reviewed the minutes. There was a motion to approve the March minutes as written by Jenny Adams, with a 2nd by Kathryn Crapo. The minutes were approved unanimously.
Quality Library Award Letter from Utah State Library Division. Director Mauchley shared a letter from the Utah State Library which awarded a Quality Library award to the Duchesne County Library System. The letter stated that the Duchesne Country Library System has gone above and beyond in the library services that it provides to the residents of the county. The board is proud of the hard work the library staff has done to receive the award.
Board Training: Economic Barriers to Library Service. The board reviewed the Economic Barriers to Library Service Access document from the American Library Association. There was a discussion around the points addressed in the document. The library tries to find balance between holding people accountable and not creating barriers to library use.
Approval of Internet Policy – Warning of Copyright Infringement. The board reviewed the policy. Deb Evans made a motion to approve the policy as written, with a 2nd by Jeff Chugg. The policy was approved unanimously by the board.
Myton Mayor Linda Harrington: Discussion of Potential Shared Services with Myton City’s Library. Mayor Harrington was unable to attend the meeting. She will meet with the board in June instead.
Review of March Statistics/Budget/Consent Agenda. The board reviewed the March Statistics, the budget, and the consent agenda. It was pointed out that Blackstone numbers will be lower than other collections because items only need to be checked out once, and then the patron can keep them.
