OAKWOOD CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
JANUARY 6, 2020
The Council of the city of Oakwood, Ohio, met in a work session on Monday, January 6, 2020 in the conference room of the Oakwood Municipal Building, 30 Park Avenue. The Mayor of the city, William Duncan, presided.
Council members in attendance were Mayor William Duncan, Vice Mayor Steve Byington, Councilmember Rob Stephens, Councilmember Anne Hilton and Councilmember Chris Epley. Staff in attendance were City Manager Norbert Klopsch and City Attorney Rob Jacques.
Mayor Duncan called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and led a discussion on the following agenda items:

REVIEW OF REGULAR SESSION MEETING AGENDA
- Mayor Duncan reviewed the agenda for the regular session this evening.
- Mayor and Vice Mayor Election: Mayor Duncan asked if there was support to re-elect him as mayor and Steve Byington as vice mayor. Councilmember Epley stated that he would make that motion and Councilmember Hilton stated that she would offer a second.

STATUS REPORTS: Council discussed the following status reports that are scheduled for the regular session this evening:
- Oath of Office, Doug Spitler, Director of Engineering and Public Works
- Council Committee Assignments
- Citizen Committee Appointments
- Public Safety Department Awards, Chief Alan Hill
- Lieutenant Chuck Balaj, 2019 TCSU Investigator Award
- PSO Jeff Yount, Jr., 2019 TCSU Agent of the Year Award
- Recognition of Lieutenant Jeff Yount, Sr., Chief Alan Hill
- December 11 Event at Oakwood Junior High, Chief Alan Hill

VISITORS
- Holiday Decorating Awards: Mayor Duncan noted that Oakwood residents Nancy Drozd and Jane Lieberth will attend the regular session this evening and assist him in recognizing the winners of the 2019 home holiday decorating awards.
- Little Free Library Eagle Scout Project: Mayor Duncan noted that Scout William Boylin will comment on his Little Free Library project at the regular session this evening.
- Dog Park Eagle Scout Project: Mayor Duncan noted that Scout Charles Jacques will comment on his Dog Park project at the regular session this evening.

LEGISLATION: Council discussed the following three items of legislation on the regular session agenda this evening:
- An Ordinance to increase the stormwater fee.
- An Ordinance to amend Chapter 163 of the Administrative Code.
- An Ordinance to amend Firearms Provisions of the Traffic and General Offenses Codes.
