Inner Dance Yoga: Mr. Klopsch mentioned that Inner Dance Yoga currently operating at St. Paul's Church will seek a special use approval to continue this business operation, restructured as a health and wellness ministry of the church. Law Director Rob Jacques explained that this issue will likely be presented at the February 5 Planning Commission meeting. The commission will evaluate the use consistent with all other special use applications. Of particular concern will be traffic generated in and around the St. Paul's neighborhood.
Short-term Rentals: Mr. Klopsch noted that as of January 1, short-term rentals are no longer permitted in Oakwood. Staff will begin monitoring advertising websites and issuing zoning violation letters where necessary.
Safety & Traffic, Mr. Stephens
Traffic Enforcement: Mr. Klopsch mentioned that he met recently with School Superintendent Dr. Kyle Ramey and Library Director Kristi Hale to discuss issues regarding the ABLE Report on traffic enforcement practices in Oakwood. The discussion expanded into a general conversation on diversity and inclusiveness. Wright Library has conducted programs on this topic in the past, and plans to continue in the future. This may a good forum for additional community discussion as may be warranted. Mr. Klopsch also noted that he will meet with Oakwood residents Roger Crum and Dan Turben on January 8, and Sam Dorf on January 14 to discuss the matter.
Package Deliveries: Mr. Klopsch mentioned that the Public Safety Department is enhancing traffic enforcement practices in regard to delivery trucks, particular the manner in which they often park illegally when making deliveries. The problem of illegal parking is exacerbated by the increase in Amazon delivery operations.

MVCC, Mr. Stephens
2020 Board Appointments: Mr. Stephens will continue to serve as council liaison to MVCC, with Mr. Epley as alternate.
MVRPC, Vice Mayor Byington
2020 Board and Committee Appointments: Vice Mayor Byington will continue to serve as Oakwood's representative at MVRPC, with Mayor Duncan as alternate.
First Suburbs, Vice Mayor Byington
2020 Board Appointments: Vice Mayor Byington and Mr. Klopsch will continue to serve as members of First Suburbs.
MISCELLANEOUS
2019 Annual Report: Mr. Klopsch mentioned that staff plans to prepare the 2019 Annual Report using the same format that has been used in the past decade or so.
City Calendar: Mr. Klopsch mentioned that staff plans to discontinue publishing the annual city calendar. The calendar has been published for many years, but is no longer deemed of significant value.
Russell Total Wealth & Wellness: Mayor Duncan noted that a ribbon cutting is scheduled at this business at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 8.
Montgomery County Convention Facilities Authority: Mr. Klopsch noted that Montgomery County has recently established this new Authority to oversee the operation and improvement of the Montgomery County Convention Center. Mayor Duncan mentioned that the Greater Dayton Mayors and Managers Association appointed two Montgomery County mayors to that Authority.
