Dale Berry
Deputy Fiscal Officer
WHEREAS, Dale Berry served the residents of Washington Township as a Trustee from 2009 to 2023, bringing steady and experienced leadership to the Board and the community; and
WHEREAS, following the passing of Trustee Sharon Lowry and the subsequent appointment of then-Fiscal Officer Gary Smiga to fill her seat on the Board of Trustees, the position of Fiscal Officer was left vacant at a time requiring careful and immediate attention; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Berry, without hesitation, graciously answered the call to return to public service, accepting appointment as Deputy Fiscal Officer to ensure the continuity of the Township’s financial operations while the Board undertook the process of appointing a new Fiscal Officer; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Berry brought to this role the same integrity, institutional knowledge, and steady fiscal leadership that defined his years as Trustee, providing stability and reassurance to Township staff and residents alike during a period of transition; and
WHEREAS, the Township is deeply grateful for Mr. Berry’s willingness to step forward once again in service to Washington Township, asking nothing in return but the opportunity to help his community through a difficult and uncertain time; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Washington Township Board of Trustees, Montgomery County, Ohio, that Dale Berry be sincerely thanked for his dedicated service as Deputy Fiscal Officer from August 17 through September 11, 2026, and for once again exemplifying the values of excellence services and financial stewardship that have defined his lifelong commitment to this Township.
