Mrs. Turben reminded everyone that tomorrow is Election Day. The polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. She encouraged everyone to vote.

Mrs. Hilton shared that polling locations are available on the City website.

Mr. Stephens noted that there were well over 200 kids trick-or-treating in his neighborhood on Sunday. It was a wonderful time for all the kids to come out and enjoy Halloween. Mr. Stephens noted that City Council was elected to represent the citizens of Oakwood. He encouraged citizen participation and open communication.

Vice Mayor Byington recited a quote by Abraham Lincoln that was shared with him a few years ago before an election by his good friend, Bill Clark, who recently passed away. “Elections belong to the people. It's their decision. If they decide to turn their back on the fire and burn their behinds, then they will just have to sit on their blisters.” Vice Mayor Byington encouraged everyone to vote.

Mayor Duncan commented on his granddaughter trick-or-treating around Oakwood. He noted that Oakwood residents will be presented with candidate selections for the Oakwood School Board and Oakwood City Council, as well as a 2.72 mill property tax levy renewal and the Human Services levy renewal. Mayor Duncan shared that Oakwood historically has the highest pass rate for the human services levy of any community in Montgomery County. He closed his comments by encouraging everyone to vote in favor of the two levies.
