Mrs. Smiddy reported that the recent organizational assessment identified opportunities to improve operations and increase efficiency. As part of these efforts, the City is implementing an Employee Portal and payroll module to eliminate paper timesheets, reducing administrative workload and saving over 32 staff hours per pay period. This will allow staff to focus on higher-value activities. Additionally, the City is adding e-filing and return processing through its existing income tax software, CityTax. Mrs. Smiddy noted that adjustments to water and sewer utility rates will likely be necessary next year.
