• Public Properties, Mrs. Turben

  • Orchardly Park Playground Equipment: Ms. Collins shared that there are playground structures at Orchardly Park that are no longer operational and have reached the end of their useful life. The largest structure would cost about $50,000 to replace.

• Safety & Traffic, Mr. Stephens

  • Gold Award Project: Mr. Klopsch shared that the new “No Parking Here to Corner” signs and crosswalk signs on E. Schantz Avenue between Dellwood and Spirea have been installed. Azalea Biteau is confirmed to attend the April 4 council meeting to say a few things about the project. Oakwood Junior High Principal Tim Badenhop will also attend.

• Streets & Alleys, Mr. Stephens

  • Sidewalk, Curb and Driveway Apron Project: Mr. Klopsch reported that the bid opening is on Thursday, March 31. Given the high level of inflation nationally, staff anticipates that the bid prices will be high, well above budget. The 2022 work will take place on the west side of Far Hills.

• REGIONAL AGENCIES
  • Oakwood Inclusion Coalition, Mr. Klopsch

    • 2021 Annual Report: Mr. Klopsch shared that the Oakwood Inclusion Coalition (OIC) is planning to publicly present its 2021 annual report to Oakwood City Council, the Oakwood School Board and Wright Library Board at the following meetings:

      • City Council – Monday, April 4
      • School Board – Monday, April 11
      • Library Board – Monday, April 18

  • Board of Health, Mayor Duncan

    • OneOhio Opioid Settlement: Mr. Klopsch briefly discussed information about the formation of “Recovery Ohio – Montgomery County,” which would oversee the distribution of regional opioid settlement proceeds in Montgomery County.

• MISCELLANEOUS

  • 2022 Committee Needs: Council discussed citizen committee appointments. Council will continue to make phone calls inviting new members to serve on committees with vacancies.

  • Oakwood Logo Clothing: Council discussed the need for new Oakwood shirts to wear to city events.
