• Public Properties, Mr. Epley
    • Shafor Park Tennis Court Improvements: Mr. Klopsch explained that the tennis court project will also involve the relocation from overhead to underground of DP&L, AT&T and Spectrum utility lines on the property of the OCC and tennis courts. This will be a significant improvement to the area. Mr. Klopsch also reported that the bid opening took place at 2 p.m. today and the low bidder was Bilbrey Construction at a cost of $722,148.
  • REGIONAL AGENCIES
    • MVCC, Mr. Epley
      • Fiber Optic Project: Mr. Klopsch mentioned that the MVCC fiber optic project is currently out to bid. Questions remain on how the $125,000 State grant can be used for the project. Clarification is expected in the next few weeks.
  • MISCELLANEOUS
    • 2017 Annual Report: Mr. Klopsch confirmed that the annual report is currently being delivered to all Oakwood properties.
    • Cox Media Advertising: Mr. Klopsch mentioned that Mr. Jacques has notified Cox Media of issues relating to the distribution of advertising materials. In particular, current practices constitute littering, by the manner in which these advertising documents are scattered around the public rights-of-way. Also, those persons delivering these advertising materials are not honoring the “Do Not Solicit” list. Mr. Jacques will continue working with Cox Media to resolve this matter.
    • Committee Appointments: Mr. Klopsch reported that Ted Kircher has agreed to serve on the Environmental Committee. Mr. Epley added that he has known Mr. Kircher for many years and that Mr. Kircher is eager to serve his community. Mr. Stephens reported that he spoke with Gretchen Beust earlier today to invite her to also serve on the Environmental Committee. He expects a response in the next day or two.

There being no other business, Mayor Duncan concluded the work session at 7:20 p.m. at which time Council moved to regular session.
