      Dogs and Leashes: Mr. Klopsch mentioned that he discussed staff's recommendation to require that dogs be on leashes with the Board of Health at the September 25 meeting. Staff will prepare legislation for consideration at an upcoming council meeting.

      Planning Commission, Vice Mayor Byington

        Jeff Shulman Retirement: Mr. Klopsch reported that he met with Planning Commission Chairman Mr. Shulman last week. Mr. Shulman's last Planning Commission meeting will be this Wednesday, October 3. Consistent with previous discussions, Mr. Klopsch will ask Greg Lauterbach if he has interest in moving from the Board of Zoning Appeals to the Planning Commission. Greg is a registered architect. If Mr. Lauterbach leaves the BZA, Mr. Shulman suggested that Nick Endsley would be a good person to consider for the vacated BZA position.

      Health Commissioner Retirement: Mr. Klopsch mentioned that he will meet with Dr. Stephen Enseleit, MD to discuss his interest in serving as the new health commissioner. Dr. Enseleit was recommended for this position by outgoing commissioner, Dr. Richard Garrison, MD.

      “Do-Not-Solicit” List: Mr. Klopsch noted that the city will be sending approximately 600 postcard notices to Oakwood property owners who have had their addresses on the “Do-Not-Solicit” list for five years. Under city ordinance, inclusion on this list must be renewed every five years.

      Orchardly Park Veterans Memorial: Mr. Klopsch confirmed that Council received an invitation from Oakwood Girl Scout Troop 30149 to attend a Veterans Memorial dedication event on Saturday, November 10. This event will take place at Orchardly Park.

      Rotary Awards: Mr. Klopsch discussed his recommendation for 2018 Civic Leadership and Community Service Awards.

      October 24 – 29 Vacation: Mr. Klopsch noted that he will be making a trip to California to visit family from Wednesday, October 24 through Monday, October 29.
