Memorial highway designations are among the most meaningful ways a community can preserve the legacy of those who have given their lives in public service. Such a designation would ensure that Corporal Reynolds' sacrifice is permanently recognized and that his commitment to protecting others is never forgotten.
The Delaware County Board of Commissioners unanimously supports the designation of approximately one mile of Interstate 69 in Delaware County, encompassing the location of the incident, as the "Corporal Blake Reynolds Memorial Highway." We respectfully request that the Indiana General Assembly enact the necessary legislation and that INDOT provide appropriate signage commemorating his service and sacrifice.
On behalf of the citizens of Delaware County, we extend our gratitude for your consideration of this request. We believe this memorial designation is a fitting and lasting tribute to a fallen officer who gave everything in service to his community.
