    • Mrs. Smiddy updated Council on preparations for the Family Fall Festival and Scarecrow Row events this weekend.
    • Mrs. Smiddy updated Council on a grant-funded project to upgrade the Oakwood Municipal Court’s case management system.
    • Mrs. Smiddy shared details from a recent meeting with Mary-Lynn Loder of the Miami Conservancy District. The district is working to develop an entirely new funding model, which is expected to be in place sometime in 2026.
    • Mrs. Smiddy reminded Council of tomorrow’s upcoming executive session for personnel matters, as well as next week’s Budget Review Committee meeting.
    • Mrs. Smiddy updated Council on the results of bidding for this year’s Johnny Appleseed project.
    • Mrs. Turben provided follow-up comments to last week’s Business Walk, which was a successful event. Montgomery County’s Business First group is compiling feedback for the City.
    • Mrs. Jackson reviewed a list of questions she had brought:
      • Mrs. Jackson inquired as to the status of fundraising efforts for a Montgomery County Law Enforcement Memorial. Mrs. Smiddy noted that fundraising is still ongoing.
      • Mrs. Jackson inquired as to the status of approving school-related signage at the OCC tennis facility. Mrs. Smiddy and Mr. Jacques noted that these conversations are ongoing. Locations have been identified but we are still working on the dimensions and other details.
      • Council discussed the condition and maintenance of the City property on Rubicon Road utilized by the school district.
      • Mrs. Jackson noted a recent inquiry was made about the property at 1313 Far Hills and asked for a status update. Mr. Jacques updated Council on the proposal, which has not materialized into an offer yet.
      • Mrs. Jackson inquired about the future of the Oakwood Scene newsletter. Mrs. Smiddy updated Council on her discussions with the school district and Wright Library. We will continue to publish in the current format through at least next spring, and discussions are underway regarding future plans.

At 7:27 p.m., Mayor Duncan concluded the work session, and Council moved to regular session.
