Conduct of Meetings: Mr. Klopsch mentioned that Code Enforcement Officer Ethan Kroger delivered the staff presentation at the March 8 BZA meeting. Going forward, Mr. Kroger will deliver the staff presentations at all BZA and Planning Commission meetings. Mrs. Wilder and Attorney Jacques will also attend those meetings.
o Public Utilities/Waterworks/Sewer, Mr. Epley
Backwater Valves: Mr. Klopsch mentioned that Public Works Foremen Shuey and Harold met with the property owner at 1329 Far Hills regarding sewer backflow issues. The solution to the problem involves the property owner installing a backwater valve.
o Safety & Traffic, Mr. Stephens
Shroyer Road Volume and Speed Data: Mr. Klopsch noted that he will report the results of recent speed and volume counts on Shroyer Road during his City Manager report at the regular session this evening. Those counts show a dramatic reduction in average and 85th percentile speeds.
  • REGIONAL AGENCIES
    o MVCC, Mr. Epley
    Broadband Project: Mr. Klopsch mentioned that a request for proposal has been issued for the MVCC Broadband Project. Construction of the additional fiber optic lines will take place during the second and third quarters of 2018.
  • BOARDS & COMMISSIONS
    o Environmental Committee, Mr. Stephens
    Committee Appointments: Council discussed the two vacancies on the Environmental Committee.
  • MISCELLANEOUS
    o March 19 Work Session: Given the lack of business, Mr. Klopsch suggested that the March 19 work session be cancelled.
    o MVRPC Spring Dinner: Mr. Klopsch reminded Council that the annual dinner event is on Thursday, April 12.
    o New Resident Breakfast: Mr. Klopsch noted that the annual New Resident Breakfast is at 9:30 a.m. this Saturday.
    o Annual UD Breakfast: Mr. Klopsch confirmed that the annual UD Breakfast will take place in Oakwood this year and is scheduled for 8 a.m. on Thursday, May 3.

There being no other business, Mayor Duncan adjourned the work session at 7:25 p.m. at which time Council moved to regular session.
