  • MVCC, Mr. Stephens
    • Energy Purchasing in Ohio/Aggregation: Mr. Jacques shared that MVCC will soon receive proposals for aggregated electricity purchasing. Oakwood will have the option to join the aggregation program, as an opt-in or opt-out participant, any time after the contract is signed. MVCC plans to solicit aggregation proposals for natural gas in late summer or early fall.
  • Oakwood Inclusion Coalition, Mr. Jacques
    • April 4 Annual Meeting: Mr. Jacques reported that he attended the Oakwood Inclusion Coalition (OIC) annual meeting on Tuesday, April 4 at Wright Library.

  • Historical Society, Mrs. Turben
    • Historic Marker Program: Mr. Klopsch reported that discussions are still underway regarding the placement of a historic marker at Hawthorn Hill.
• MISCELLANEOUS
  • Email Issues/Problems: Mr. Klopsch discussed the new password and security guidelines to prevent email account compromises. Council also discussed problems being encountered with email delivery, particularly relating to automatic email forwarding.
  • April 22 Earth Day Program: Mr. Klopsch commented on the schedule of the Earth Day Weekend event being held at Wright Library from Friday, April 21 to Monday, April 24. Engineering and Public Works Director Doug Spitler will be participating in a “Recycling Update” panel discussion that is set for 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 22.
  • May 2023 National Tennis Month: Mr. Klopsch noted that the May 1 council meeting agenda will include presentation of a proclamation recognizing the month of May as “National Tennis Month.”
  • That Day in May Parade: Mr. Klopsch reviewed the timeline for “That Day in May,” including details about the parade.
