  • Public Properties, Mrs. Turben
    • Irving Avenue Athletic Field: Mr. Klopsch reported that city staff recently removed an enormous amount of honeysuckle around the entire perimeter of Irving Field. An onsite work session will be planned for either May or June to discuss possible future uses for this property.
• REGIONAL AGENCIES
  • Oakwood Inclusion Coalition, Mr. Klopsch
    • Annual Report: Mr. Klopsch shared that the OIC publishes an annual report during the first quarter of each calendar year to summarize the organization’s programs and events, and discussions and actions taken by the OIC in the preceding year. The OIC Establishing Document states that following the publication of the annual report, the OIC will present this information to Oakwood City Council, the Oakwood School Board, and the Board of the Wright Memorial Public Library. Mr. Klopsch added that the OIC is currently seeking a new treasurer to oversee finances of the 501(c)(3) organization.
• BOARDS & COMMISSIONS
  • Historical Society, Mrs. Turben
    • Special Use Permit: Mr. Klopsch reported that Debra Edwards, President of The Oakwood Historical Society, recently contacted the city to inquire about the process for the Society to request an amendment to the special use permit addressing rental of the Long-Romspert Homestead.
• MISCELLANEOUS
  • Committee Appointments: Council discussed the list of appointments scheduled for the regular session this evening.
  • 2022 City Events: Mr. Klopsch stated that the staff Chili Cookoff and Jr. High dances at the OCC are cancelled. The perennial sale and summer blanket concerts will be conducted this year. Staff is still evaluating whether to conduct the annual New Resident Breakfast.

At 7:25 p.m., Mayor Duncan adjourned the work session and Council moved to regular session.
