    Pending Cases: Council briefly discussed the status of appeals on the two condominium requests at the Pointe Oakwood development. The case involving the 32-unit condo application at Schantz and Far Hills was decided last Friday in favor of the city.
  • ○ Planning & Zoning, Vice Mayor Byington

    Medical Marijuana: Mr. Klopsch reported that the Planning Commission voted 4-0 last week to recommend approval of a Zoning Code change to prohibit medical marijuana operations and sales in Oakwood. This issue will come before City Council at the February 6 public meeting. Vice Mayor Byington will report on this pending legislation during Council comments at the regular session this evening.

    Shroyer Road Project: Mr. Klopsch mentioned that following approval of the work zone ordinance, staff will request a “speed zone revision” through ODOT. A temporary speed limit of 25 mph will be set for Shroyer Road during the 2017 roadway construction project.

    Change of Address Request: Mr. Klopsch briefed Council on the procedure for citizens to request address changes. This happens from time to time for Oakwood properties at roadway intersections. One such request was recently received for a property at Rubicon and Far Hills.

    CM Newsletters: Mr. Klopsch asked Council if they remain satisfied with the content of the weekly city manager newsletter packets. Council responded in the affirmative.

    2016 Annual Report: Mr. Klopsch asked if Council had any interest in changing the format of the city annual report. No requested changes were presented.
  • ○
    E-mail Communications: Mr. Klopsch asked if Council was comfortable with the level of his e-mail communications in terms of keeping Council abreast of daily business matters. Council responded in the affirmative.

    January 23 Work Session Cancellation: Mr. Klopsch explained that there are no pending agenda items and suggested that the January 23 work session be cancelled. There were no objections noted.
  • ○
    Financial Disclosure Statements: Mr. Klopsch reminded Council of the Monday, May 15 deadline to submit 2016 financial disclosure statements.
  • ○
    YWCA Women of Influence: Mr. Klopsch noted that staff is moving forward with sponsoring the March 9 Women of Influence Luncheon where former Mayor Judy Cook will be recognized.

There being no other business, Mayor Duncan adjourned the work session at 7:26 p.m. at which time Council moved to regular session.
