Cook Park: Mr. Klopsch reported that the City received $3,284 from a group of citizens who had committed private donations for the construction of Cook Park. That group of citizens has suggested that some additional improvements could be made at the park. Mr. Klopsch stated that staff believes that the park is sufficient for now.

REGIONAL AGENCIES

MVCC, Mr. Stephens

Fiber Optic Project: Mr. Klopsch provided a brief update on the MVCC Fiber Optic Project. The project was recently bid, but unsuccessfully. There was only one bidder and the price was significantly over budget. Plans are being developed to re-bid the project with hopes that it can come in at or near budget. The City has appropriated $45,000 towards this project. It involves seven of the eight MVCC communities, all but Germantown.

MVPRC, Vice Mayor Byington

May 3 Shroyer Road Tour: Mr. Klopsch noted that the MVRPC Board of Directors is planning to conduct a tour of the Shroyer Road Project at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 3. Shroyer Road is one of three stops on the tour to view recently completed bikeway improvement projects.

BOARDS & COMMISSIONS

Environmental Committee, Mr. Stephens

Committee Appointment: Mr. Stephens noted that the Beusts have declined a position on the Environmental Committee. Mr. Klopsch suggested that Council ask Stefan Susta. Council concurred. Vice Mayor Byington will extend the invitation.

MISCELLANEOUS

Food Trucks: Mr. Klopsch mentioned that staff is developing legislation to regulate food trucks in Oakwood. Mr. Jacques explained that there is currently no guidance in the city code to address the operation of food trucks.

Variance Standards: Mr. Jacques explained that he is working on some changes to the variance standards included in the Zoning Code. As a Zoning Code amendment, these will go to the Planning Commission first for a recommendation and then to City Council for approval.
