5. DE Student Authentication Policy – Page 10

  • As required by law, institutions must have effective procedures in place to ensure that the students who register in a distance education course are the same students who participate in and complete the course, and receive the academic credit. Barstow Community College requires two methods to authenticate students enrolled in distance education/online courses. The first method is the use of a secure login and pass code to access courses. The second method of authentication is the use of proctored examinations. The BCC DE Student Authentication Policy was adopted on February 22, 2018 to provide faculty and staff instructions and clarification on the requirements for authenticating online students.

6. BCC Online Attendance Policy – Page 12

  • The BCC Online Attendance & Drop Policy provides faculty some guidelines and information with respect to taking attendance and dropping students in an online class.

7. Exam Proctoring Guidelines – Page 14

  • When students need to have an exam proctored, they are required to follow the exam proctoring guidelines. Although the BCC Exam Proctoring Guidelines are going through a revision, this is the most current guidelines as of January 1, 2020.
