Point Broadband: Mr. Klopsch reported that Point Broadband, a new internet and telecommunications provider, plans to start installing underground fiber optic cable in Oakwood in January. Work will take place on every street and will be quite disruptive. Point Broadband plans to install seven large distribution hub cabinets in Oakwood. The cabinets are seven feet tall. Staff is working with Point Broadband to direct them to locations for these cabinets that will least impact neighborhoods. The project will also include installation of numerous 18 inch tall above-ground pedestals throughout the city. Each pedestal will serve about 20 homes.

2022 Committee Needs: Mr. Klopsch stated that he will include 2022 committee needs on an upcoming work session agenda.

United Way: Mr. Klopsch mentioned that city staff will discontinue participating in an annual United Way workplace campaign. Over the years, participation in United Way has dropped significantly as city employees have chosen other ways to engage in charitable giving.
