Mrs. Hilton explained that this is an annual ordinance that is the second step of the 2017 Sidewalk, Curb and Driveway Apron Project. It was introduced with a first reading at the March 6 Council meeting. This year’s program will cover the west side of Far Hills Avenue and all city streets west of Far Hills.
Thereupon, it was moved by Mrs. Hilton and seconded by Vice Mayor Byington that the ordinance be passed.
Upon call of the roll on the question of the motion, the following vote was recorded:
There being three (3) yea votes and no (0) nay votes thereon, said ordinance was declared duly passed and it was so ordered.
A copy of the ordinance, having been placed on the desks of each member of Council prior to introduction, was read by title.

Mrs. Hilton explained that this is the third and final step of our 2018 street lighting program. It allows for the costs of street lighting to be certified to the Montgomery County Auditor for assessment.
This is a first reading of the ordinance, so Mrs. Hilton made no motion.
STAFF REPORT
Public Works Update: Mr. Klopsch shared that a letter was mailed to over 600 Oakwood residents/tenants along the Shroyer corridor providing an update on the Shroyer Road Project. The construction is planned between May and October of this year. The city will conduct two open house events in April to provide information about the project and to address citizen questions. The meetings are open to the public and all interested citizens are encouraged to attend. The open house events are scheduled for Thursday, April 20 from 4:30-6:00 p.m. and Tuesday, April 25 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. This project will be a major improvement and will improve the safety performance of Shroyer Road for all transportation types. A section of sanitary sewer pipe along the east side of Shroyer Road between Hadley Avenue and Corona Avenue will be replaced. It will involve replacing approximately 225 feet of old sewer pipe. Property owners impacted by this work have been sent a letter with additional information. The city will be meeting with Barrett Paving next week to discuss pre-construction topics for the roadway project. The contractor will be required to place message boards on both ends of Shroyer Road alerting motorists of construction activity.
