Gold Star Project: Mr. Klopsch reviewed a drawing that shows the locations for additional “No Parking Here to Corner” signs and crosswalk signs on E. Schantz Avenue between Dellwood and Spirea.

Mailbox Thefts: Mr. Klopsch noted that there have been about 20 reported thefts of mail from public mailboxes around Oakwood. The February 26 Dayton Daily News included an article about these thefts. The thefts are also occurring in Kettering.

Streets & Alleys, Mr. Stephens

2022 Asphalt Pavement Project: The project bid opening was on February 24. There were two bids received and Barrett Paving was the low bidder. The bids were higher than originally anticipated, but consistent with other paving project bids in the Dayton area, reflecting the rising inflation. Given that there is about $36,000 encumbered and still available from the 2021 budget, the city has sufficient funds to proceed with the original scope of the work as bid.

2021 Annual Report: The Oakwood Inclusion Coalition (OIC) is planning to publicly present its 2021 annual report to Oakwood City Council, the Oakwood School Board and Wright Library Board at the following meetings:

Le Vésinet 50^th and Outremont 45^th: Mrs. Hilton shared details for upcoming Oakwood Sister City Association events celebrating twinning anniversaries.

Far Hills Speaker Series: November 20 Presentation: Mr. Klopsch noted that Vice Mayor Byington was invited to be the speaker at the Far Hills Speaker Series on November 20, 2022. The event will commemorate the 150^th anniversary of Oakwood’s platting and conclude with a vision of Oakwood in the future. Council will discuss the content of this presentation at a future work session.

2022 Committee Needs: Council discussed citizen committee appointments. Mayor Duncan noted that he will continue making phone calls inviting some existing committee members to continue in their positions. Other council members will assist with some calls.

Oakwood Sustainability: Mr. Klopsch noted that Mrs. Wilder is meeting with two Oakwood residents this week to discuss development of native gardens. The residents are members of Green Oakwood and refer to themselves as the “Wild Ones.”
