OAKWOOD CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
JUNE 21, 2021
The Council of the city of Oakwood, Ohio, met in a work session on Monday, June 21, 2021 in the second-floor training room at the city building, 30 Park Avenue. The Mayor of the City, William Duncan, presided.
Council members in attendance were Mayor William Duncan, Vice Mayor Steve Byington, Councilmember Rob Stephens, Councilmember Anne Hilton and Councilmember Leigh Turben. Staff in attendance were City Manager Norbert Klopsch and City Attorney Rob Jacques. Also attending for a portion of the meeting were Public Safety Director Alan Hill, Personnel and Properties Director Jennifer Wilder, and State Representative Andrea White.
Mayor Duncan called the meeting to order at 5 p.m. and began by welcoming Representative White.
Representative White briefed Council on the 2022/23 Ohio Biennial Budget. She discussed issues and proposed legislation regarding civil and criminal justice, government oversight, guns in schools, bail reform, health districts, municipal income tax, and broadband/fiber optic services.
Mayor Duncan invited Chief Hill to demonstrate the in-car and body cameras that the Oakwood Public Safety Department has recently begun using. Chief Hill provided a detailed briefing on the camera systems and how they will be used by the Oakwood Public Safety Department.
After the camera equipment demonstration, Mr. Klopsch addressed the following agenda items:
Thereafter, Representative White and Chief Hill departed the meeting.
At 6:45 p.m., Council moved to executive session for property matters.
At 8:15 p.m., Council concluded the executive session for property matters, and Council moved back to work session.
