HOLIDAY FESTIVAL OF TREES AUCTION
PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES
Thank you for sharing your time and talent by decorating a holiday tree for the Friends of Smith Gardens Holiday Festival of Trees Auction. Your participation will help illuminate the holiday season in a special way for the Oakwood community.
Below is a list of participation guidelines.
Please complete the attached form and submit it to the Oakwood Community Center by October 1, 2024.
Deliver your completely decorated tree to the OCC on Friday, November 15th between the hours of Noon and 4 P.M.
All trees must be artificial. They should be at least 12” tall but no more than 4’ tall. All trees must have a tree stand, be fire retardant and have lights. All lights must be new and UL approved. Please check lights before placing them on your tree.
You are responsible for acquiring all decorations to be used on your tree. Your contribution to the Holiday Tree Auction is your donation to this fundraiser. All decorated trees become the property of Smith Gardens.
Please have enough decorations on your tree so that it will look full from all angles. All decorations must be secured.
The base of the tree must be covered with a tree skirt or appropriate covering.
During the set-up time, you may finish decorating the tree if necessary. Tree must be able to be transported easily by purchaser.
Assistance in bringing your tree to the center will be provided, if necessary.
We would like you to choose a theme. Artistic creativity and imagination is encouraged as that will entice people to bid.
Trees should appeal to a broad audience and should be appropriate for a home, office or business.
The following items are not permitted on a tree:
Candles
Unwrapped candy or food items
X-rated materials
Tobacco
Advertising
Flammable materials
Perishable food or materials
Firearm accessories
Live plants
Any political viewpoints, candidates, etc.
