  • LED Street Lights: Mr. Klopsch commented on the decision to use 2700 Kelvin LED street light fixtures for most residential areas in Oakwood, rather than the brighter 3000 Kelvin fixtures.

    • October Event: Mr. Klopsch reported on planning underway for the fall event in Oakwood. It will include presentation of a proclamation recognizing Charles and Ann Simms for their work 50 years ago in establishing the Sister City relationship with Le Vésinet, France. Staff is also exploring the possibility of coordinating a luncheon at Hawthorn Hill for visitors from Le Vésinet and Outremont.

  • Proclamations for The Oakwood Club and Hart family: Mr. Klopsch noted that the August 1 council meeting agenda will include presentation of a proclamation recognizing The Oakwood Club and Stewart family for 60 years of business in Oakwood, and a proclamation recognizing the Hart family for organizing the American flag project along Shafor Boulevard.
  • New Resident Breakfast: Mr. Klopsch reported that this year's event is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 5.
  • Comprehensive Plan Goals & Objectives: Mr. Klopsch commented on the draft paper shared with City Council last Friday that provides a long list of accomplishments over the past 20+ years towards the Goals and Objectives in the city Comprehensive Plan. Mr. Klopsch plans to continue working on the paper over the next few weeks and to share a more comprehensive version with the BRC, Planning Commission and BZA in September. Mr. Jacques recommended seeking a formal endorsement of the paper by the Planning Commission and City Council, followed by a statement that the Comprehensive Plan remains valid and should be retained as a guiding document for the city.
  • Gas and Electricity Purchasing in Ohio: Mr. Klopsch commented on the white paper recently distributed to City Council addressing natural gas and electricity purchasing in Ohio. Mr. Klopsch is participating in discussions with other area managers regarding the merits of community aggregation programs.
