Short-term Residential Rentals: Mr. Klopsch noted that staff is starting to receive citizen comments about short-term rentals, including homes listed by Airbnb. Mr. Epley mentioned that he recently received an inquiry as well. Staff is looking at this issue and will draft legislation aimed at regulating this property use. These draft regulations will be available for discussion at the August 20 work session.

Shafor Park Tennis Courts: Mr. Klopsch noted that the tennis court paving will take place this week. Work is progressing well and a ribbon cutting/grand opening event is tentatively scheduled for 5 p.m. on Monday, August 20.

Lane Stadium Roadway: Mr. Klopsch reported that the public works department is replacing some roadway curb on the east side of Lane Stadium. A section of roadway in this area has had a drainage problem. This will be corrected through an asphalt mill and overlay operation scheduled to take place over the next two weeks in conjunction with the annual street resurfacing program. The City is paying the costs for the curb work and the Oakwood City Schools will pay the cost for the mill and overlay operation, a cost estimated at approximately $10,000.

Stormwater Study: Mr. Klopsch provided an overview of a stormwater study to take place in the area generally bounded by Devereux, Patterson, E. Schantz and Forrer. LJB, Inc. will complete the engineering work. The purpose of the study is to determine the cause of local flooding during heavy rainfall events.

School Route Map: Mr. Klopsch mentioned that staff is finishing an update to the "Suggested School Route Map". This project is being completed with input and assistance from the Oakwood Schools. The updated map will be posted to the school and city websites, and will be distributed to all elementary school students through Smith Elementary and Harman School.

Walnut Lane Resurfacing: Mr. Klopsch reported that the City is one of seven property owners abutting Walnut Lane, a private street. The City's property is Smith Gardens. The six other residential property owners around Walnut Lane are pursuing a roadway resurfacing project to be completed sometime this summer. In accordance with standard practice on this private roadway, the City will pay 1/7 of the cost for this work.

Schantz & Dellwood Parking: Mr. Klopsch noted that the Oakwood Schools is interested in establishing two additional dedicated parking spaces on the west side of E. Schantz Avenue just north of Dellwood. These two spaces would be reserved for school vans. The Schools will pay all costs associated with creating these spaces, including relocating an existing crosswalk and building a new pedestrian ramp.
