Property Maintenance Code Update: Mr. Jacques provided an overview on the update to the Property Maintenance Code to incorporate the new 2021 international code and adjust the property maintenance districts to match the seven voting precincts. Staff will present legislation at the December 13, 2021 council meeting.

Public Properties, Mrs. Turben

Recycling Facility Improvements: Mr. Klopsch reported that Phase 2 of the project, which involves extension of a large retaining wall to provide a level space for the facility, is currently underway. The project is scheduled to be completed by late 2021.

Dog Park Parking Lot: Mr. Klopsch reviewed conceptual drawings for an improved parking lot at the dog park. This project will be submitted with the 2022 capital budget request, and will include security cameras. It is expected to cost about $50,000.

Safety & Traffic, Mr. Stephens

COVID-19: Mr. Klopsch reported that staff continues to monitor COVID-19 to ensure compliance with federal and state directives.

Community Relations/Promotion/Appointments, Mayor Duncan

Communications: Council discussed methods of communicating with Oakwood citizens including press releases, city website, Facebook and the Oakwood Scene newsletter.

Family Fall Festival: Mr. Klopsch noted that the event is scheduled outdoors in Shafor Park from 2 – 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 10. Several parts of the event will be modified to address COVID-19 concerns.
