AN ORDINANCE

AN ORDINANCE DETERMINING TO PROCEED WITH THE REPAIRING OF SIDEWALKS AND APPURTENANCES THERETO ON CERTAIN STREETS BETWEEN CERTAIN TERMINI, IN THE CITY OF OAKWOOD, OHIO, AND PROVIDING THAT ABUTTING PROPERTY OWNERS REPAIR THE SAME.

A copy of the ordinance, having been placed on the desks of each member of Council prior to introduction, was read by title.

Mr. Stephens explained that this is an annual ordinance that is the second step of the 2025 Sidewalk, Curb and Driveway Apron Project. Again, this year’s program area covers all city streets within the area bounded by Far Hills Avenue to the west (but not including Far Hills Avenue); the Oakwood-Kettering boundary line to the east; the Oakwood-Kettering boundary line to the south; and Corona Avenue to the north.

This was a first reading of the ordinance, so Mr. Stephens made no motion.

A RESOLUTION
BY VICE MAYOR BYINGTON NO 1933
A RESOLUTION APPROVING REVISIONS TO THE BYLAWS OF THE FIRST SUBURBS CONSORTIUM OF DAYTON, OHIO.

A copy of the resolution, having been placed on the desks of each member of Council prior to introduction, was read by title.

Vice Mayor Byington explained that Oakwood is a member of the First Suburbs Consortium (FSC), a Regional Council of Governments which was established in 2005 to focus on issues of common concern among first-tier suburbs of the City of Dayton. The FSC adopted initial Bylaws in 2005 and amended them in July 2017. A new amendment, consisting of several minor procedural updates, was approved by FSC in October 2024. It will not take effect until it has been legislatively approved by a majority of FSC member communities, who are being asked to ratify the amendment.

This resolution will formalize Oakwood’s approval of the updated Bylaws.

Thereupon, it was moved by Vice Mayor Byington and seconded by Mrs. Turben that the resolution be passed.
