Far Hills Storm Sewer Reconstruction Project. Mayor Duncan noted that the Far Hills Storm Sewer Reconstruction Project was the largest infrastructure rebuild project in the history of Oakwood and Council appreciates Mr. Kuzma’s good work.
COUNCIL COMMENTS
Mrs. Jackson shared that the annual Giving Strings concert is at 6 p.m. this Saturday at St Paul’s Episcopal Church. She also wished everyone a good and safe start to the new school year and encouraged adults to embrace something new to learn.
Mrs. Turben displayed photos and commented on the Olympic men’s cycling event that traveled through Le Vésinet, one of Oakwood’s sister cities.
Mr. Stephens shared that on Sunday, August 18, the city will have a 50th anniversary event and special blanket concert at Smith Gardens. The event will include falcons, Stan the Magic Man and a sculpture on display built by well-known local artist, Michael Bashaw. At 7 p.m. Oakwood City Council will conduct a formal opening of the celebration and brief program.
Vice Mayor Byington encouraged everyone to attend the Ice Cream Social this Sunday, August 13 from 3:30 – 7 p.m. at Shafor Park.
Mayor Duncan commented on a change of command ceremony at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base that he attended last week. Col. Kenneth A. Stremmel took command of the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. He succeeds Col. Ariel Batungbacal who was recently confirmed as a brigadier general select.
