Mr. Klopsch mentioned that the Public Safety Department is updating the policy regarding performance expectations. Mayor Duncan mentioned that he received an email last week from Attorney Gary Leppla announcing that the NAACP Dayton Unit is planning a February 24, 2020 forum to discuss the ABLE Report on traffic enforcement in Oakwood. That email included an invitation for the Mayor or another representative from Oakwood to participate on the discussion panel. Mayor Duncan and Mr. Klopsch discussed the email last week, and recommend that the City not participate. The City received the ABLE Report last fall, immediately spoke publicly about the report, and made a commitment to complete a thorough analysis of the report contents. The City delivered a formal response to the report at the December 9, 2019 meeting and considers the matter closed.

  • MISCELLANEOUS
    • Committee Appointments: council discussed the list of appointments scheduled for the regular session this evening.
    • Red Cross Month: Mr. Klopsch noted that March is “Red Cross Month” and the City will have a proclamation at the March 2 council meeting acknowledging this event.

There being no other business, at 7:20 p.m. Mayor Duncan adjourned the work session and Council moved to regular session.
