Discussion & Consideration of the Amendment and Extension Agreement with Javelin Uinta, LLC

Javelin Uinta, LLC is requesting a renewal of a water disposal agreement. The original agreement was effective on May 27, 1995, and extended on May 27, 2005. They are requesting it be extended again for another ten years, effective May 27, 2025. The lease will increase from $10,000 to $15,000 annually. The parties discussed the lease. Commissioner Miles made a motion to approve the agreement with Javelin Uinta, LLC, for $15,000 per year. Commissioner Killian seconded the motion. Commissioner Miles voted aye, Commissioner Killian voted aye, and Commissioner Hansen voted aye. The motion passed.

Discussion of County Fair Activities

Commissioner Miles listed the upcoming activities for the County Fair. The main events from previous years are returning this year. Monday – Volleyball at 5:00 pm, Hypno Hick at 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm, and Ruckus on the River at 7:00 pm. Tuesday – Livestock weigh-in starts at 8:00 am, Baby Show at 10:00 am, Dodgeball at 7:00 pm, Cornhole at 8:00 pm, and Hypno Hick at 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm. Wednesday – Livestock Market 8:30 am, Home Arts and 4H Exhibits Show 11:00 am to 6:00 pm, Carnival starts at 4:00 pm, the Senior Citizen Dinner sponsored by UBAOG is at 5:00 pm, and the concert featuring Chancey Williams starts at 7:00 pm. Thursday – Livestock Showmanship at 8:30 am, Peewee Sheep Show at 4:00 pm, Breeding Sheep Show at 4:30 pm, and the Demolition Derby – Lawn Mower Race at 7:00 pm. Friday – Kids Duathlon at 8:00 am, Livestock Buyer Breakfast at 8:00 am, Livestock Sale at 9:00 am, Softball at 5:00 pm, Country Line Dancing at 6:00 pm, and the Rodeo starts at 7:30 pm. Saturday – Fun Run Walk at 7:00 am, Triathlon at 8:00 am, the Car Show begins at 9:00 am, Horse Pulls at 11:00 am, Cowboy Mounted Shooting at 3:00 pm, Parade at 5:00 pm, and the Rodeo at 7:30 pm. There will be fireworks on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Many more activities are happening that haven’t been mentioned. There are shuttle buses for the back parking lot. Patrons are encouraged to use the buses; each patron gets a ticket for a drawing as an incentive for riding the bus. The parties discussed recognizing businesses in conjunction with the County Fair starting next year.

Deputy Clerk-Auditor Lexie Young presented seven new business licenses and described the process of obtaining a County business license.

• Allred’s Computer Repair, owned by Gage Allred, Roosevelt, Utah.
• Black Lake Enterprises, LLC, owned by Breanne Brinkerhoff, Bluebell, Utah.
• LuckSmith Washout Inc., owned by Jade Smith, Roosevelt, Utah.

The parties discussed the new businesses. Commissioner Miles made a motion to ratify the business licenses as approved by the Clerk-Auditor’s office. Commissioner Killian seconded the motion. Commissioner Miles voted aye, Commissioner Killian voted aye, and Commissioner Hansen voted aye. The motion passed.

Discussion & Consideration of the Board of Equalization (BOE) Adjustments

Clerk-Auditor Chelise Jessen presented a list of twenty-nine (29) BOE adjustments. The list is stored in the Clerk-Auditors office with the minutes. The parties discussed the adjustments. Commissioner Killian made a motion to approve the BOE adjustments as presented. Commissioner Miles seconded the motion. Commissioner Killian voted aye, Commissioner Miles voted aye, and Commissioner Hansen voted aye. The motion passed.
