Human Resource Generalist Tommi Mascaro presented a list of five new volunteers who have passed the background check. Commissioner Killian made a motion to approve the county volunteers as presented. Human Resource Director Judy Stevenson gave an update for her department. Six positions are open: Certified Patrol Officer, Corrections Officer, Corrections RN, Deputy Public Defender, Seasonal Landscaper/Facilities Maintenance Technician, and Truck Driver/Equipment Operator. The parties discussed the scheduled interviews. The Health Fair is next Month on September 19th.
Commissioner Killian made a motion to go in and out of a closed meeting for a strategy session to discuss:The Character, Professional Competence, or Physical or Mental Health of an Individual. Commissioner Miles seconded the motion. Commissioner Killian voted aye, Commissioner Miles voted aye, and Commissioner Hansen voted aye. The motion passed.

Commissioner Miles gave an update on the fire weather. There has been a lot of storm activity. Five new fire starts were reported in the Uintah Basin: two in Duchesne County, two in Daggett County, and one in Uintah County. There is a 50-50 chance of thunderstorms for the next five days. They have seen a great response from the fire stations and the new fire warden.
